A stunning antique 9ct yellow gold hinged cushion locket with exquisite scrolled detailing to the face and reverse with the antique hallmark showing J&RG. Joseph James & Richard Charles Griffin of 28 Hylton Street in the heart of Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter began their business in 1895. In 1905 they moved to larger premises at 105/109 Hockley Street and then relocated again in 1913 to Soho Hill Birmingham where they continued their craft until the company went into voluntary liquidation in 1926. The locket has a good solid snap fastening with the picture sections ready for photographs to be added. A perfect antique wedding, anniversary or birthday gift.

Condition – Excellent. Please note: there is a tiny hole to the top right of the front of the locket. This doesn’t look like wear but rather a tiny puncture that has happened during its lifetime. This is evidenced in the close up photographs and our price reflects this.
