An absolutely gorgeous true Art Deco antique diamond solitaire ring with elongated platinum shoulder detailing. The ring dates from the 1920s and has been beautifully crafted in 18ct yellow gold and platinum and features a very clear sparkling 3mm brilliant cut diamond flush and square set into an ornate platinum setting with matching ornate millgrain platinum shoulders and mounted onto a 18ct yellow gold shank. The ring has the maker’s mark JH for James Harrison and Sons, a family run jewellery business established at 16 Tenby Street, Birmingham in 1880, moving to 63 Warstone Lane, Birmingham around 1942 and operating through to their closure in 1991. Also stamped alongside the hallmark is LIFETIME. LIFETIME appears to be a line of wedding jewellery by James Harrison & Sons during the Edwardian and Art Deco eras. A stunning antique engagement or promise ring.
