An absolutely gorgeous diamond cluster ring with star detailing to the mount. The ring dates from the 1960s (hallmarked 1967) and has been beautifully crafted in 18ct yellow and white gold and features a very clear sparkling 2mm centre diamond flush set into an ornate star design in 18ct white gold surrounded by a halo of 10 x 1.3mm flush set diamonds on a polished 18ct yellow gold shank. The ring has the maker’s mark S&D for Steele & Dolphin founded by Elliot Steele and Benjamin Dolphin of 119 Vyse Street, Birmingham and who were known for producing high quality jewellery particularly rings from the late 1930s through to the 1970s. The ring weighs a hefty 3.3g. A stunning vintage engagement or promise ring.
