This absolutely stunning 18ct yellow gold sapphire and diamond trilogy ring by Payton Pepper & Sons features a central 5mm round cut teal blue sapphire (0.60ct) flanked by 2x 3mm sparkling brilliant cut diamonds set into a 18ct white gold raised rex mount. The diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of 0.20ct (20 PTS). Payton Pepper & Sons of Vyse Street, Birmingham, in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, was founded in 1858 by William Payton and Samuel Pepper and the company was active until the early 1970s when they merged with Barker Ellis and continued trading until 1997. One of Payton Pepper’s most famous creations was a diamond tiara made for Queen Victoria in 1870 which was crafted from diamonds taken from a necklace that had belonged to the Queen’s aunt, Princess Augusta. Considered to be one of the leading British jewellery manufacturers of their time, their pieces are sought after by collectors today for their historical significance.
