This superb vintage 9ct gold signet ring from 1978 has been claw set with a large oval cut deep red garnet which measures 11mm by 9mm (3.75ct) set into a typical raised signet ring mount which measures 14.7mm at its widest tapering down to 3.6mm at the back for a comfort fit. The ring has the maker’s mark CL&S for Charles Lyster & Sons of Spencer Street in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. The company was established in the 1890s by Frederick Charles Lyster and their primary production likely ended in the 1930s following his retirement. However, Samuel Lyster his son, took over the business through to the late 1970s when the company finally closed. As with all our jewellery the ring has been professionally cleaned and polished. A perfect graduation, promise or anniversary ring.
